I have uploaded new episodes of "The Little Japanese in San Diego".
You can see my husband's "Oyaji gyagu". :)
"Oyaji gyagu-おやじギャグ" means "old man's joke" and is a kind of word play usually punning words that have similar or same sounds but have different meanings. Often, it's considered cheesy, and people (especially young people) don't find it funny in Japan. Oyaji gyagu is also known as "Dajare-だじゃれ".
In this episode, my husband is saying "Mr. Tofu can speak English very well because Mr. Tofu took TOEFL test!" (*TOEFL=Test of English as a Foreign Language. I had to take the test before applying to college.)
I didn't realize western people say those jokes too. :0 ... or is it just my husband?
