Purikura (short for Print Club) are Japanese photo booths that let you take digital pictures, decorate and edit the pictures, and now even alter your face and body in the pictures. With recent Purikura machines, you can enlarge your eyes and stretch your legs unnaturally long and thin.
Yes, it's nice to look pretty in pictures, but I feel like asking people in those purikura photos "What are you aiming to be? (alien perhaps?)" People often look unnatural and freaky when they alter their appearance in the purikura picture. The recent purikura features are too much... or just wrong if you ask me. Having said that, some purikura pictures you can find on the internet are quite hilarious and they intend to look so.
When I went to Japan to visit my family last fall, I was excited to take the purikura pictures of myself. "How freaky am I going to look?(*￣m￣)" I thought. Turned out, my eyes looked pretty normal - bigger than actual but not ridiculously huge which my sister's, friend's, and Ichi's were, like some anime characters.
Hmmmm? I guess... my eyes are not big enough to look freaky in purikura pictures.｡ﾟ(ﾟ^Д^ﾟ)ﾟ｡ hahaha.
